New York college offers transportation simulator
advertisement
The City College of New York recently launched the Universal Transportation Model Simulation Center, which area transportation managers hope will help offer some solutions to the region’s transportation and congestion woes.
The center will establish a set of test beds in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area that will be used to run simulations on traffic assignment models, transportation planning models, microscopic traffic simulators, signal optimization models and network flow models. The simulator will be used by state and city engineers, emergency and security agencies, trucking companies and freight forwarders.
