A tri-lateral meeting among the highest-ranking transportation leaders in the United States, Canada and Mexico will take place tomorrow in Canada.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Mary Peters, Canadian Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities Lawrence Cannon, and Mexican Secretary of Communications and Transportation Luis Téllez will meet at Willson House in Meech Lake, Quebec.

The government officials will discuss the need to continue fostering sound policies and strategic approaches to the continental transportation system to facilitate trade and economic growth among the three countries.

As part of the summit, entitled "Sustaining the North American Transportation Advantage - Enhancing System Safety, Efficiency, and Integration," the leaders are holding bilateral meetings today at the Chateau Laurier Hotel in Ottawa, Ontario.
