Northern Frac Proppants L.L.C. (NFP) recently obtained a multi-year agreement to supply northern white frac sand to CARBO Ceramics' new processing plant in western Wisconsin.

NFP is building a 145-acre sand mine and processing plant adjacent to CARBO's sand processing and resin-coating plant in Marshfield, Wis. The plant will be located on Class I lines, providing direct rail access for unit trains to ensure delivery to all major North American shales and "unconventional formations," NFP officials said in a press release.

"The majority of domestic oil and gas drilling and development utilize frac sand and ceramic and resin coated proppants for hydraulic fracturing to increase productivity of new and existing natural gas and oil wells," said NFP President Jeff Alston. "We look forward to … building strong business relationships with end users, transload, rail and other service providers."
