Northern Virginia Transportation Authority recommends transportation projects
advertisement
The Northern Virginia Transportation Authority (NVTA) has developed a list of recommended projects to be completed under the first round of funding offered through the state's Transportation Funding Bill. Provided NVTA members adopt the seven taxes and fees authorized by the state general assembly as part of the bill on July 12, the authority would receive about $300 million annually in transportation funding.
NVTA has proposed $102 million in road, multi-modal and public transit projects, including $6 million to upgrade signs at 20 Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority Metrorail stations, $3.7 million for new Virginia Railway Express locomotives and $3.5 million to improve platforms at the West Falls Church and Vienna Metrorail stations.
