Northern Virginia Transportation Authority signs off on six-year plan

The Northern Virginia Transportation Authority recently approved a six-year plan that provides funding for roadway, transit and pedestrian improvements.

The plan includes $206 million for Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority’s Metrorail service and Virginia Railway Express between fiscal years 2008 and 2010. Transit projects include the Columbia Pike streetcar; I-66/Vienna Metrorail accessibility and capacity improvements; Rosslyn Metrorail Station access improvements; and a transit development plan for the Fairfax Connector.
