Ohio Central to commission GenSet

On March 7, Ohio Central Railroad Inc. plans to hold a commissioning ceremony for a rebuilt locomotive at The Works Museum in Newark, Ohio.

The Genesee & Wyoming Inc. (GWI) subsidiary railroad recently partnered with the U.S. Department of Transportation, Ohio Department of Transportation and Ohio Rail Development Commission to fund the rebuilding of a 1950s vintage locomotive into an environmentally friendly GenSet. The ultra-low-emissions locomotive features a Cummins QSK-19 engine kit provided by Brookville Equipment Corp.

Last year, GWI commissioned two similar GenSets for the Buffalo & Pittsburgh Railroad Inc.
