advertisement
The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) recently approved construction authorization from the Ohio Rail Development Commission for a quiet zone in North Ridgeville.
The project calls for installing four quadrant gates and flashing lights at three Norfolk Southern Railway grade crossings, and upgrading circuitry and installing median barriers at an additional NS crossing.
The Class I must submit site plans and cost estimates to PUCO by Jan. 2, 2011, and complete all work by Jan. 4, 2012. The project will be funded by American Recovery and Reinvestment Act dollars, as well as monies from the state and NS.
