Ohio provides grants for diesel emission-reduction projects

The state of Ohio recently announced 10 Diesel Emissions Reduction Grant program recipients.
The state provides grants for projects aimed at implementing technologies designed to reduce transportation-related air emissions. Recipients must provide matching funds covering at least 20 percent of project costs and operate updated equipment in Ohio "non-attainment-and-maintenance counties" at least 65 percent of the time.
The grant recipients include R.J. Corman Railroad Group for a locomotive replacement program, the Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway Co. for the purchase of locomotive anti-idle equipment, Arcelormittal Cleveland Works Railway for the acquisition of anti-idle equipment, and Indiana & Ohio Railway Co. for locomotive replacements and anti-idle equipment installations.
