Oklahoma DOT to poll public on long-range transportation plan

advertisement

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) will hold meetings June 10-12 to obtain public input on the state's long-range transportation plan.

Covering a period from 2015 to 2040, the plan would guide ODOT’s policies for improvements to rail, rural transit, highway, airport, waterway, pedestrian and bicycle transportation systems. The plan also would address the state’s goals for safety, accessibility, mobility, freight movement, and other economic and quality-of-life issues.

The state, which last updated the plan in 2010, is required to re-evaluate it every five years.

ODOT plans to conduct meetings June 10 in Muskogee, June 11 in Moore and June 12 in Clinton. The meetings will enable attendees to speak one-on-one with state engineers and planners, comment on proposed plan goals, and review materials on existing transportation system conditions.
