OmniTRAX Inc. recently named Alan Thiem regional director of marketing and sales. He will be responsible for generating business development opportunities and maintaining existing business in an assigned territory.

Thiem most recently was director of supply chain management-network design and development for Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics, where he managed commercial operations with rail, truck and ocean carriers. He previously served the company as director of supply chain-operations. Thiem also was a stint as assistant manager of logistics operations for American Honda Motor Co., and served Norfolk Southern Corp. for nine years in various sales and marketing roles.

OmniTRAX owns 16 short lines operating in 10 states and three Canadian provinces.

Meanwhile, Watco Transportation Services named James Andrews chief mechanical officer for the South Kansas and Oklahoma Railroad (SKOL).

Most recently a locomotive foreman, Andrews joined Watco 10 years ago as a locomotive mechanic. He later served as a shop foreman for SKOL, which operates a more than 404-mile line and manages a fleet of more than 20 locomotives.
