The Ministry of Transportation of the State of Israel recently awarded a contract to On Track Innovations Ltd. to supply contactless smart cards.
The cards will be compliant with Calypso, an electronic ticketing standard that supports multiple applications on one card. The Israeli agency plans to introduce a new card that will enable passengers to pay for multiple transportation services, such as buses, and subway and light-rail trains.
