The OneRail Coalition yesterday announced it has restructured into a standalone 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization and will operate with its own board of directors.
Previously, the OneRail Coalition operated as a nonprofit under the auspices of the Surface Transportation Policy Project.
The change enables the coalition to operate more efficiently in its mission to educate policymakers and the public about the benefits of freight and passenger rail, OneRail Coalition officials said in a press release.
Coalition officers are:
The board members are Ken Altman, senior director of federal government affairs at Amtrak; Stacie Tiongson, senior director of government affairs at the American Public Transportation Association; and Nicole Brewin, VP of government and public affairs at the Railway Supply Institute. Anne Canby, director of the OneRail Coalition, serves as an ex-officio member.
