DTE Transportation Services May 30 launched ShurTrack(SM) 2.0, the latest version of its Web-based rail-car management system that aims to help railroads reduce fleet and administrative costs, and improve customer service.
ShurTrack, which requires no software or special hardware and can be accessed on the Internet 24/7 (www.DTETS.com), is designed to update estimated times of arrival, identify exception shipments, provide online reporting tools for creating custom reports, and manage reports measuring railroad performance and cycle times.
DTE Transportation Services officials believe the system enables railroads to improve rail-car visibility for customers, and more proactively identify and correct shipment problems.
