The Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) recently appointed Peggy Hanson senior manager for transportation operations.

She will supervise day-to-day MAX light-rail and bus operations, and oversee 1,600 operators and five operation facilities. Hanson also will be responsible for field and command center operations, operator training, labor relations and performance management.

Hanson joined TriMet in 1985 as a bus operator, and since has held several management positions in field operations and system security.
