The Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon recently took delivery of the first of 22 new light-rail vehicles from Siemens Transportation Systems Inc.
The agency purchased the cars to have additional capacity on hand when the I-205/Portland Mall light-rail line opens in September 2009. Scheduled to be delivered by October 2009, the vehicles will operate over the entire 44-mile MAX light-rail system.
