Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
Transport initiatives for Edinburgh recently contracted Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB) to design a project that will return trams to the United Kingdom city.
The Edinburgh Tram project calls for two light-rail lines — one connecting the city center with Leith, Newhaven and Granton; the other, linking the city center and airport.
PB will develop a detailed traffic management plan to minimize disruption during the construction phase, provide preliminary design and specifications for system options, and detail technical requirements for system components and infrastructure.
