Parsons, PointShot partner to provide Wi-Fi services for North American passenger-rail systems

Parsons and Point Shot Wireless recently announced they’re teaming up to offer onboard wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) services to the North American rail industry.
Using PointShot’s RailPoint system as the communications platform, the companies plan to provide fully integrated and seamless Wi-Fi systems designed to deploy, manage and support onboard wireless Internet services for rail passengers.
Planning, engineering and construction firm Parsons will provide its expertise in integrating applications and technologies to meet real-world requirements for transit agencies; PointShot will develop wireless infrastructure for onboard applications.
