Last week, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers & Trainmen (BLET) members re-elected National President Dennis Pierce and National Secretary-Treasurer William Walpert to four-year terms, effective Jan. 1.

Members also re-elected Marcus Ruef to a second term as a national vice president and elected Terry Briggs, currently chairman of the Texas State Legislative Board, as alternate vice president and national legislative representative.

About 40 percent of eligible members had casted ballots in the first-ever election of national division officers, BLET officials said in an election announcement.
