The Port Authority of Allegheny County board recently approved a $45.9 million amendment to a contract with Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles S.A. (CAF) and CAF USA Inc. to rehabilitate another 15 light-rail vehicles.

In 2000, the authority contracted CAF to supply 28 new LRVs and rehabilitate 40 cars. All new cars and 17 rehabilitated vehicles have been delivered, with the remaining vehicles scheduled to be delivered by 2007’s end.
