Port Authority of Allegheny County joins Google's trip planner program

Add the Port Authority of Allegheny County to the growing list of transit agencies teaming up with Internet search engine Google to offer trip-planning information.

Riders can visit www.google.com/transit and enter a starting and ending address for their trip. Google Transit then will outline trip information, as well as provide a rail or bus route map and detailed satellite images of the area.

In December 2005, the Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon became the first agency to team up with Google. Since then, Google Transit has added four bus agencies to its trip-planning program.
