Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
The Federal Railroad Administration soon might be headed by a new acting administrator to succeed Betty Monro, who retired last week.
Yesterday, President Bush announced his intention to designate Robert Jamison acting administrator. Jamison currently serves as deputy administrator of the Federal Transit Administration, which, like the FRA, is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation. He was appointed to the FTA in May 2002.
Jamison previously served as senior operations officer for the American National Red Cross. He also served United Parcel Service for 13 years in various capacities, including operations supervisor, and manager of systems and infrastructure for the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.
