Progressive Railroading to launch Secure Rail conference in 2015

Progressive Railroading plans to introduce a new rail conference next year that will focus on protecting and managing the security of rail technologies, assets and workers.

The Secure Rail conference will be held Feb. 3-4, 2015, at the Sheraton Lake Buena Vista Resort in Orlando, Fla. The event will feature 15 to 20 conference sessions and a number of networking opportunities, including chances to engage with leading industry suppliers via tabletop exhibits.
 
Secure Rail topics will include port security, bridge and tunnel security, hazardous materials transportation, emergency preparedness, surveillance and cyber security, information technology security and railroad policing. Presentations will feature strategies and insights from industry experts on how to protect employees, passengers, technologies and assets from man-made threats and other dangers.

While several conferences only address the narrower issue of rail safety, Secure Rail is the first conference that will address North American rail security from an organizational perspective, says Progressive Railroading Publisher Steve Bolte.
