Progressive Railroading webcast to address tribal consultation issues

Progressive Railroading will present a new webcast, "Tribal Consultation on Railroad Construction and Improvement Projects," on Dec. 7.

Sponsored by ICF, the program will examine current regulations, terminology and other factors related to Native American tribes when pursuing railroad construction and improvement projects.

Learning objectives will include best practices in initiating consultation with Native American tribes; current regulations related to tribal consultation; and common mistakes to avoid while conducting a consultation.

Speakers will include architectural historian and ICF senior fellow Richard Starzak, archaeologists Tait Elder and Christian Havelaar, and ICF principal Susan Lassell.
