RAILINC rolls out financial-management software designed for small roads

RAILINC Corp. Sept. 18 began offering RailSync™ Concur, a Web-based software system aimed at simplifying regionals' and short lines' revenue settlements and customer billing.
The system would enable small roads' customers to fully participate in the rail industry's Interline Settlement System (ISS) and access financial-management functions.
Concur, RAILINC's first offering in its RailSync™ suite of Internet-based software for small roads, recently was tested on 220-mile Georgia Central Railway, as well as on Class Is Norfolk Southern Railway, Union Pacific Railroad and Kansas City Southern for ISS capability.
Meanwhile, RAILINC is developing RailSync™ Command, software designed to provide small roads rail-car and train-management capabilities, including shipment information exchanges with all North American railroads via Electronic Data Interchanges and TRAINII® messaging. Command also would offer internal event reporting functions, a standing track inventory feature, reporting tools and links to back-office systems.
"Railroads using these products will improve their bottom-line through seamless integration with their partners in the North American rail network, increased efficiency and better information management," said RAILINC President Jim Gardner in a prepared statement.
