Trinity Industries Inc. reported first-quarter 2022 revenue of $473 million, up from $330.7 million a year ago. Income from operations of $54.8 million climbed from $51.5 million a year ago. The company reported Q1 new rail-car orders of 5,055 units and car deliveries of 2,470 units. The company’s 2022 guidance calls for deliveries of 40,000 to 50,000 cars and net investment in the lease fleet of $450 million to $550 million.Spark Training Solutions, a railroad software technology provider, is the newest provider to join the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association’s member discount program. Spark Training serves Class Is and short lines with custom safety, regulatory and compliance training services designed to help railroads and contractors develop effective strategies to manage their drug and alcohol testing programs and other functions.Synergy Freight Solutions merged with Knichel Logistics Inc. to become Knichel Logistics – Detroit Branch. The merger was completed April 25. Synergy owner and CEO Natasha Erickson will lead Knichel Logistics – Detroit Branch and join the Knichel Logistics leadership team as executive vice president of business development. Current Synergy employees will become Knichel Logistics – Detroit Branch employees.
The League of Railway Women’s board has appointed Janet Hoang parliamentarian. Hoang is a sustainability coordinator at Canadian Pacific. She assumes the LRW role from Madeline Stern, who has accepted a new opportunity outside of the rail industry, according to an LRW press release.
