Scott Hulstrom, RailAmerica Inc.’s president of central operations, died Feb. 11, according to the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA). He was 48.
Hulstrom joined RailAmerica in 2001 as southeast region vice president. He later served as heartland regional VP. Prior to RailAmerica, Hulstrom served BNSF Railway Co. and its predecessors for 23 years as the New Mexico Division’s superintendent and terminal superintendent.
A devoted husband and father of three, he enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting, ASLRRA said.
Hulstrom is survived by his wife, Donna, a daughter and two sons. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Victory Church in Geneseo, Ill.
