Progressive Railroading will hold its annual RailTrends conference Sept. 30-Oct. 1 at the Affinia Manhattan in New York City.

The two-day summit is designed for railroaders, suppliers, equipment lessors, finance institutions, shippers and other stakeholders in the rail industry's growth.

"Determining what's in store for the industry is an ever-growing challenge for railroading executives in today's evolving transportation environment," said Progressive Railroading Publisher Stephen Bolte. "At RailTrends, attendees get a glimpse of the future, as well as the factors shaping the rail leasing and financing arena right now. Attendees will leave the Affinia Manhattan with extensive knowledge to help them prepare quite literally for what's ahead on the rails."

As of July 22, RailTrends' speaker roster includes:
• John Kaiser, Union Pacific Railroad's vice president of intermodal;
• John Giles, RailAmerica Inc.'s president and CEO;
• Kevin Kaufman, BNSF Railway Co.'s group VP-agricultural products;
• Jean-Jacques Ruest, Canadian National Railway Co.'s senior VP of marketing;
• U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown (D-Fla.);
• U.S. Rep. John Mica (R-Fla. — invited);
• Ed Hamberger, the Association of American Railroads' president and CEO; and
• Jason Hayes, the American Coal Council's communications director.

RailTrends' motto, "Financing Capacity and Growth in the Railway Industry," signals how the educational and networking event has emerged as a touchstone meeting for the rail industry. In the short time since its launch in 2005, RailTrends is now nationally recognized as a unique “meeting of the minds” in the rail financing industry.

"The unique and timely perspective RailTrends affords us is an opportunity to look out over the rail industry and align our corporate strategic goals with the realities that exist in the industry," said Matt Clarke, president and CEO of Gross & Janes Co. and a past RailTrends attendee.

Miller Tabak & Co. L.L.C. is the event's platinum sponsor. To learn more about RailTrends 2008, contact Cory Ampe at 414-228-7701 or cory.ampe@tradepress.com, or log onto www.railtrends.com.
