RailWorks Corp. June 5 named board member and former Chief Operating Officer John Kennedy chief executive officer to succeed John Larkin, who plans to remain board chairman and solely focus on strengthening the company’s balance sheet.
Kennedy, who’s served the integrated rail products and service provider in various capacities since its 1998 inception, previously was president of Kennedy Railroad Builders — established by Kennedy in 1965 and one of RailWorks’ 14 founding companies.
"[Kennedy’s] relationships with customers, vendors and employees should prove invaluable as RailWorks continues the process of enhancing operational efficiencies across its network," said Larkin in a prepared statement.
