Railcar Management taps Kleifgen as chairman

Railcar Management Inc. (RMI) recently named J. Peter Kleifgen chairman and director.
Kleifgen previously served as president and chief executive officer of StatesRail, a holding company that owned and operated eight short lines before it was acquired by RailAmerica Inc. in late 2001.
Kleifgen replaced RMI Chairman Wilds Pierce, who reduced his day-to-day involvement with the company, according to a prepared statement.
"Adding Pete to the management team gives me great comfort that RMI will continue to thrive, while maintaining the corporate culture that is so important to our customers and employees," said Pierce.
RMI offers transportation, revenue and equipment-management software and systems (branded as RailConnect®) to North American regionals and short lines.
