Railtrack Aug. 1 announced that Chief Operating Officer Jonson Cox planned to step down and immediately leave the company.
Chief Executive Officer Steve Marshall would assume control of Railtrack's operations, with the company's seven zone directors and commercial services director directly reporting to him.
"We are determined to improve Railtrack's operational performance, to deliver our commitments on safety and major network upgrades, and to drive forward with our plans to restructure the business," said Railtrack Chairman John Robinson in a prepared statement. "Steve Marshall is now rightly able to focus on these crucial business issues."
