Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
The Railway Industrial Clearance Association (RICA) recently announced the events schedule for its 37th annual meeting to be held June 13-17 at the Westin Savannah Hotel in Savannah, Ga.
The conference will include sessions on wind technology, industry change, loading regulations and the future of dimensional traffic. Aimed at bringing together North American power industry manufacturers, logistics specialists, forwarding companies, riggers and heavy haulers, barge operators, port authorities, railroads and rail-car owners, the event also will include exhibits.
Founded in 1969, RICA organizes an annual conference to address solutions to loading, transporting and off-loading problems arising from large dimensional freight's excessive weight, height and width. The association's 500-plus members include Class Is, regionals, short lines, shippers, receivers, riggers, port authorities, expediters, heavy-haul motor carriers, barge and steamship lines, and consultants.
For more information on the meeting, call Mike Scott at 918-259-0999 or visit RICA's Web site at www.rica.org. RICA plans to hold next year's annual meeting in Louisville, Ky., in June 2006.
