On Jan. 16, former National Mediation Board (NMB) mediator Thomas Ingles passed away. He was 84. Ingles retired in 2001 after serving the board as a mediator for 26 years.

"Tom was a valued mediator and co-worker, much respected by those of us at the NMB and the parties alike," said NMB officials in a prepared statement.

Ingles is survived by his wife, Inge, a son and daughter, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in Ingles' name to the Salvation Army, 2100 New York Ave. N.E., Washington, D.C., 20002.
