advertisement
SAFLINK® Corp. recently obtained a contract to provide services and supplies for BearingPoint Inc., which is developing a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) prototype for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
A smart card containing biometric information about the credential holder, TWIC is designed to verify the identity of a worker at a transportation facility and prevent unauthorized personnel from accessing secure areas.
About 200,000 rail, aviation, ground and maritime transportation workers will participate in a seven-month test of the prototype card.
