SEPTA deploys two explosive detection systems

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) recently obtained two SIEGMA™ 3E3 explosive detection systems from HiEnergy Technologies Inc.

Featuring HiEnergy’s Atometry technology, the SIEGMA 3E3 is designed to decipher chemical formulas. The system can detect whether an object or container carries a select group of substances, such as explosives, biological agents or illicit drugs.

SEPTA will use the systems in conjunction with its K-9 units to screen unattended and suspicious packages.
