SEPTA posts 6 percent ridership gain on regional rail lines

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) continues to post ridership gains. For the 2006 fiscal year ending June 30, the authority boosted ridership 6 percent on its regional rail system, carrying an average of 107,000 passengers daily.

The lines that posted the largest increases were SEPTA’s R1 Airport line, up 21 percent; R3 Media-Elwyn line, 12 percent; R8 Fox Chase line, 11 percent; and R2 Warminster line, 10 percent.
