In an effort to recruit female applicants to fill a variety of skilled trades positions, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) will hold a virtual recruiting event onJune 26.

The Women Building SEPTA Virtual Trades and Technical Career Fair is targeted to women who are currently working in skilled trades, as well as those who are interested in starting their careers, according to a news release.

The career fair will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The session will provide job seekers with information about potential career paths at SEPTA, including how to navigate the application process.

Applicants will have the opportunity to meet experienced women in the trades and speak directly with SEPTA's hiring managers. Technical institutes and vocational colleges will also be in attendance to help women get the training they need to join these growing fields. While the event is targeted to women, it is open to men to attend as well.

Rail positions that SEPTA is looking to fill include rail vehicle mechanic, rail vehicle electrical/electronic maintainer and Track general helper.

Job seekers must preregister for the career fair by visiting the SEPTA website.
