Société Nationale des Chemins de fer Francais (SNCF) President Guillaume Pepy recently was appointed a member of the International Union of Railway’s (UIC) European Management Committee and vice chairman of the UIC Regional Assembly for Europe.

Comprising all 104 European members of the UIC, the regional assembly oversees the union’s program work.

Pepy joined SNCF for the first time in 1988, serving as director of the president’s cabinet and strategy director. He then served stints as director of cabinet for French ministers Michel Durafour and Martine Aubry before rejoining SNCF as executive director general in 2003. Pepy was named SNCF president in February. He also serves as chairman of Eurostar.
