Sacramento Regional Transit (SacRT) recently broke ground on a $230.5 million, 11-mile light-rail extension between downtown Sacramento and Folsom, Calif.

The project includes 10 stations, enhanced signaling,14 new light-rail vehicles and a half-mile extension to the Sacramento Amtrak station, where SacRT will connect with Amtrak inter-city and Capitol Corridor service, as well as local bus service.

The extension is scheduled for completion in 2005.
