On Monday, the Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) opened a new video control center.
SacRT police officers and security staff now can view real-time images from cameras installed at 47 light-rail stations. The control center and cameras were funded through a $606,250 transit security grant SacRT obtained from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in 2005.
