Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
On June 19, Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) will open the first phase of the Folsom light-rail extension and begin using a modified schedule to accommodate the new service.
The agency’s light-rail system currently operates between the Watt I-80 and Sunrise stations, and between the Downtown and Meadowview stations. After the Folsom extension opens next month, SacRT will operate service between the Watt I/80 and Meadowview stations, and between the St. Rose of Lima Park and Sunrise stations. In October, the agency will open the remainder of the extension, which will run between the St. Rose of Lima Park station and city of Folsom.
SacRT also plans to modify most of its bus service to support light-rail connections.
