The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System's (MTS) board last week approved an agreement to build 390 housing units for low- and moderate-income families at the Palm Avenue Trolley Station.
Earlier this year, MTS broke ground for another transit-oriented development involving 250 housing units at its Grantville Trolley Station. The two projects are part of an agency-wide effort to fully utilize park-and-ride lots, MTS officials said in a news release.
National Community Renaissance and Malick Infill Corp. will build four separate residential buildings, together called Palm City Village.
National Community Renaissance will build three of the buildings. The agreement requires the firm to break ground within five years. Malick Infill must begin construction on the final building within eight-and-a-half years after National Community Renaissance breaks ground.
