San Diego Trolley to begin preliminary engineering for new extension
advertisement
The San Diego Association of Governments recently awarded a contract to Parsons to provide planning, environmental and preliminary engineering services for a San Diego Trolley extension.
Running between Old Town Transit Center to the University of California at San Diego and University City, the $939 million, 11-mile Mid-Coast Trolley line will feature eight stations.
To be funded through a local sales tax and federal dollars, the line will share right of way with existing freight and passenger-rail service on the southern portion, and possibly Interstate 5 right of way on the northern portion.
