In August, North County Transit District’s (NCTD) COASTER service carried 161,067 passengers — an 8 percent increase compared with August 2005 and the highest-ever monthly ridership in the San Diego commuter railroad’s 11-year history.
In addition, NCTD carried an average of 6,500 passengers each weekday, another record for the agency.
Also during August, COASTER posted on-time performance of 92.6 percent, the district’s best mark since June 2005.
