advertisement
In fiscal-year 2008, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency registered a ridership increase of 6.5 percent, or 13.5 million more passengers, compared with FY2007's total.
In addition, fare revenue increased 5.7 percent, or $8.1 million.
The agency attributes the ridership gains in part to area job growth, higher fuel prices and a $1 increase in the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge toll.
