Santa Clara VTA to renovate downtown San Jose station

advertisement

Today, the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) will close the Santa Clara light-rail station in downtown San Jose, Calif., for five months to complete renovations.

The station is one of four in downtown San Jose that VTA is renovating. The project calls for raising passenger loading platforms to the same high as light-rail vehicle floors, and upgrading benches and lighting. Last year, the authority completed similar work at the Paseo de San Antonio and St. James stations. In mid-January, VTA plans to open a renovated Convention Center Station.
