Cascadia Monorail Co. recently released the first rendering of the Seattle Monorail system.

The design features oval-shaped columns on wide sidewalks with landscaping to provide a more friendly environment for pedestrians, retail shops and restaurants, according to a prepared statement.

During the next several weeks, Cascadia Monorail officials will continue to incorporate feedback from the public, Monorail Review Panel, city officials and Seattle Monorail Project representatives into the design process.
