Shanghai Shetong Holdings Group — the transport investment branch of the Shanghai Municipality — recently awarded a $165.4 million contract to an ALSTOM Transport-led consortium to supply 16 eight-car METROPOLIS trains for an extension to Shanghai’s Metro line.
The consortium comprises Shanghai Alstom Transport Co. Ltd. — a joint venture between ALSTOM Transport and Shanghai Electric Corp. 3 and CSR Nanjing Puzhen Rolling Stock Works.
