Six crossings to be upgraded, three to be closed in Ohio city

In June, the Ohio Rail Development Commission (ORDC) and Ohio Department of Transportation expect to complete a $728,000 grade crossing consolidation project in downtown Perrysburg. The state agencies have worked with the city and CSX Transportation the past three years on the project, which addresses traffic delays at six crossings in the heart of Perrysburg.

The parties are making “state-of-the-art technology upgrades” at the crossings along CSXT’s corridor to reduce delays for motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians, according to ORDC. In addition, the city, state and CSXT agreed to close three crossings.

“This collaborative effort ensured that every railroad crossing in our city is now protected with gates and lights,” said Perrysburg Mayor Nelson Evans in a prepared statement.
