Sound Transit seeks public input on long-range plans

Today, Sound Transit officials are kicking off a series of 10 public meetings to solicit feedback on proposed transportation projects. To be held throughout the month, the meetings will enable officials to obtain input on a Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Study (SEIS).

The study analyzes options to expand the system through 2030 based on current and projected growth patterns, and travel volumes. During the next 25 years, the Puget Sound region’s population is expected to increase 1.2 million.

The SEIS addresses transportation plans for Pierce, King and Snohomish counties, including rail extensions and other mass transit projects between Seattle, Bellevue and East King County, North Seattle and Everett, and SeaTac and Tacoma.
