Gerri Hall’s 11-year run as Operation Lifesaver Inc. (OLI) president is coming to a close. The organization has named Helen Sramek president to succeed Hall, who will retire at year’s end.

Most recently director of federal relations for the American Automobile Association, Sramek will assume the position Jan. 8. She previously served as an executive assistant to the Agency for International Development’s administrator, and legislative aide and staffer for a Nebraska congressman.

OLI organizes public education and awareness programs to promote grade crossing safety and prevent trespassing.

“Helen will join our state coordinators and safety partners to find new ways to help motorists and pedestrians make safe decisions around tracks and trains,” said Hall in a prepared statement.
